Dr. Ella Faktorovich becomes the first surgeon in the Bay Area certified by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance
We are proud to announce that Dr. Ella Faktorovich has just become the first surgeon in the Bay Area to be certified by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance (CRSQA)
The Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance is an independent, nonprofit, patient/consumer health organization that evaluates, monitors, and verifies the quality of the vision correction procedures performed by refractive surgeons in the United States.
Certification process involves in-depth verification of the surgeon's credentials, including an extensive review of results of consecutive refractive surgery procedures. Information submitted includes pre- and post-procedural vision and patient satisfaction. The outcomes results are verified by a random audit. Once the stringent criteria are met, the surgeon becomes certified by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance.
After the certification, CRSQA certified Refractive Surgeons submits outcomes results to CRSQA on the first 1,000 refractive surgery procedures performed in each year. This information is also verified by random audit.
Only four surgeons in the US have been CRSQA certified to-date. Dr. Faktorovich is the only surgeon in the Bay Area to have received such an honor.
